Welcome back from February break! We hope it was fun and restful.
It's been very busy here in the LTC! Here's a quick update:
We've been working with our fourth graders as they work on their National Parks project. Mrs. Ardizzoni and Miss Carney talked with all three classes about how to cite our sources- both print and digital- and why it is so important to give credit to the sources we use in research projects. Students were given graphic organizers to help them organize their information and make it easy to cite their sources in their bibliographies. Stay tuned to see their final products!
Fourth and fifth grade classes are reading Crenshaw by Catherine Applegate with Miss Carney, and we are almost finished! Crenshaw tells the story of Jackson- whose family has fallen on hard financial times- and his imaginary friend Crenshaw the cat, who reappears in Jackson's life just when Jackson needs him most. We're enjoying it very much so far!
Our MCBA Book Club for fourth and fifth graders has been great! We've had some really fun and insightful book discussions since we began in October. We'll be discussing February's selection- Fortunately the Milk by Neil Gaiman- on Monday, February 29th at recess.
We also completed two exciting glyph projects with our Kindergarten and 1st grade classes. Stay tuned for more about those fun projects- complete with pictures!
