A Snapshot of the Day - Science, Poetry, and Technology

Here's a brief look at what's happening at Pine Glen today.
Grade 3
Students in Mrs. Lynch's science class have been researching their animals for several classes.  Today, they used the website Read Write Think to create four graphic organizers to prepare for their final project using Google Slides.

Students in Mrs. Cunha's science class have also been researching their animals and associated habitats for several classes.  They have used informational text and well as electronic sources.  As a conclusion, they are using the app, Explain Everything to design slides that will teach others about their topics using images and their recorded voices.

Grade 2
Students in Miss Anderson's science class are also studying animals and today had a lesson on using the Google Slides App on their iPads.  Students will be working in groups to create a Google Slide presentation highlighting their animals facts.

Grade 1
First graders from Miss Mills' homeroom were treated to an acrostic poetry story, Spring, An Alphabet Acrostic by Steven Schnur, read by Miss Carney.  Today they began brainstorming ideas in preparation for writing their own Spring acrostic poem.  Stay tuned as they will be publishing their poetry on their iPads later this month.
